windcuts is a series of experimental project by designer miska knapek that transforms weather data into physical objects. the series transforms data measured by a wind sensor into a three-dimensional form that is then made physical through a CNC milling machine. the wind sensor measures direction, velocity and temperature of wind patterns. through digital modeling, the form is generated using this data. ‘the direction of the line is the wind's direction. the width and speed of movement is the wind speed. and the height is the temperature.’ knapek has produced a few models based on the data including one made using 5 days of wind data and one measured over a single day.
