belgian designers anne masson and eric chevalier's work is illuminated by an original
approach - an open practice, without any preconceptions concerning the results;
very different items: a scarf, a cushion, a hanger, chair, a cover, a carpet, etc. these day-to-day
objects are explored regarding their different possible levels, sometimes the couple concentrates
on the yarn, sometimes on the motif, on a structure or on a specific form.
the processes employed evolve continuously from one collection to another: pieces are
perfected over time, structures or a motifs grow into new ones and change place,
one work leads to another. magazine fragments are used to slip notes or pictures in between the pages.
there is sticker at the back to put it on the wall. each piece is unique. anne masson and eric chevalier have collaborated since 2003.
they were trained in textile design, and most of their objects are the result of investigation
and of an experiment with materials. both also teach in the textile design department
of la cambre in brussels. their chevalier - masson collection is produced in belgium
and france, and is sold in galleries and concept stores.
